HERE GOES NOTHIN'

Posted on May 29th, 2008 by Shane : Just a regular guy travelling time. Shane

Well, I'd like to kick off my blog here with an entirely new entry, one that's not yet been read by the already scant few who care to consider my meager musings; but such shan't be the case I'm afraid. You see, I've not yet written anything since having permanently relocated to Northern California over a year ago. Which isn't to say I haven't been inspired to write; on the contrary, there's been moments a'plenty wherein I've felt that old familiar urge to commune with my muse and burn the midnight oil for no particular reason other than the simple satisfaction that comes of organizing my thoughts via the written word. It's just that I've lived long enough to know that timing is everything and where my muse is concerned a slow and steady courtship has been in order. That said, I'll stop short, before going any further. To do so would render this an official blog entry as opposed to a mere introduction and that would be a travesty to be certain. I have, however elected to post a select few entries from an old blog that's lingered in terminal obscurity on an anonymous domain;  doing so with the slim hope that I might acquire a modest readership here before I plod any further. All entries that appear beneath this one, though posted in the present, were written in the past. So. Here goes nothin'.

Shane, I loved your 'unofficial' blog entry, saying a lot of nothing to this who can hear… :)
Great you discoverdd my blog and left a comment so I could get to know you.

You're a great writer, I'd love to see you connecting with that longing in you and take a dive where ever it pulls you. Should you look for active support, feedback and exchange on writing, being a writer, learning more about your own process, check out our Diving Deeper writing workshop group. We are a community of all kinds of writers. The group is semi-private, which means you can go and read all that is put out there (like what we're about and how to join and stuff, but also all the writing and the comments, which is LOTS).

But, I didn't come to advertise, if DD is the right place for you, you'll find us. No, I wanted to encourage you to bring your blog to life - I'll add you to my notifications so I'll see when you post something new. For me, being on Gaia (I joined a bit more then a year ago, when it still was zaadz) has been enormously helpful to get  my creativity going. I'm much more inspired to do my artwork when I can put it out somewhere, I noticed.

And I love experimenting with blogging, and becoming more and more personal in what I put out. I'm not a soul stripper or anything like that, but somehow trying to express  express things that keep me busy in ways that are appropriate for such a public place, some to the point and touch others, helps me to become more clear in expressing. As you might have noticed, I tend to use too many words - my editing involves a lot of taking out, shortening things, bringing it to the point…  :)

Enough for now. I'm delighted to be part of your modest readership, I'm sure if you bring energy here we will be a crowd in no time at all.

Now  I gotta go and get myself my share of sunshine and action on this incredible hot and lovely sunny Sunday in Berlin, Germany.

Much love,
Gabriele

Gabriele, thanks a bunch for the kind words. I've taken a look at the Diving Deeper group and it certainly looks like a great community for writers to share their work with one another. I may well have to take you up on the suggestion :).
