After a ten year odyssey in the City of New York, I've returned from whence I came, that is Santa Rosa, California. Having initially sought fame and fortune in “The Big Apple”, I rapidly progressed through a succession of seemingly unfortunate events to the sudden realization that there's one hell of a lot more to life than meets the eye. Thus began for me a journey not only into sobriety, but spiritual discovery that continues to this very day.

Having settled in Santa Rosa, I've spent the bulk of my first year here getting reacquainted with the slow and steady rhythms of suburban living. I ain't there yet, but the hours and days I've spent gliding along on my road bike through the vineyards and rolling hills of Sonoma County, the trails a'plenty upon which I've hiked, and the sultry summer evenings I've spent sipping coffee in the relative silence of Railroad Square have worked wonders within me.

Being here has reminded me that Time and Space commingle in such a way that they can neither be discerned one from the other nor can they be diminished by any manner of disproportion. Which is to say, the more space available, the more time there is to explore it. That said, I suppose I'm on an expedition of sorts with nothing but an endless expanse of time on the horizon.
